ABOUT NEW PRAGUE FLORAL & SUCH

Located on the south side of main street next to Radio Shack

My dreams came true, I love what I do!

I didn’t purchase a business to own a business, I purchased a Floral shop because it’s my roots. My mom Maxine Shambour owned Hilltop Flowers throughout my childhood years. I was engulfed in the business from birth. I attended North Hennepin Technical School and completed the Retail Floral Program, became a designer and then for financial reasons I finished my accounting degree and changed careers to be in the accounting sector. My dream was to own my own flower shop and with a lot of prayers and support from loved ones my dream came true October 2017. I took over a well -established floral shop with a wonderful reputation for beautiful, quality work. I was mentored to refresh my design skills and learn the ropes of today’s floral shop operations.
If you drive by our store the outside sign says New Prague Floral A Takovy. What’s that mean you ask? I was born and raised in New Prague and am 100% Czechoslovakian. “A Takovy” means “and such” in Czech. I’m proud of my heritage and love that it’s still rich in my community. This great community drew me back and I returned to the area in 2002 with my husband Tom. We have two beautiful girls McKenzie and Jessica. I couldn’t think of a better place to call home and to raise our family.
When I purchased the business I wanted customers to know I didn’t just have flowers, so my inventory includes “And Such”, Plants, Chocolates, Balloons, Garden Stone items, Memorial gift items, Permanent floral, Candles, Containers, Baskets, Plush, Tuxedos and more…
When you shop at New Prague Floral and Such we treat every customer as if they were a lifelong customer, all our floral designs are done in store by us. Each order is personal to us and we strive to keep each design unique.
To all my regulars, thanks for your support, if you haven’t been by, stop in and say hi.
